Massive Hailstones and Widespread Damage

Homeowners observed giant hailstones as large as 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.

Southern State's Storm Challenges

Simultaneously, nearly one thousand energy customers in the southern state also faced energy failures after Melbourne recorded its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.

Rescue organizations received nearly 600 requests for assistance across the state, mostly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, more than twenty-eight thousand energy customers in Victoria were experiencing outages.

Climate Outlook

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.

Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity predicted across different parts of both states.

Safety Concern

Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
